(Bloomfield, NJ) –During its Wednesday, April 10, 2019,meeting at Bloomfield Town Hall the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders honored the American Red Cross and recognized March 2019 as “American Red Cross Month” in Essex County.
District 4 Freeholder Leonard M. Luciano and Freeholder President Brendan Gill, presented a Commendation to Jocelyn Gilman, Executive Director of the American Red Cross Northern New Jersey Division, declaring March 2019 as “American Red Cross Month” in Essex County. During the presentation, which was sponsored by Freeholders Rufus Johnson, Patricia Sebold, Leonard Luciano, and Freeholder President Gill, Freeholder Luciano recognized the volunteers, employees, and Ms. Gilman for the organization’s service to communities throughout Essex.
March is a special time to recognize and thank the Red Cross volunteers and donors who give of their time and resources to help members of the community, and the American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey continues to play a major part in aiding Essex County residents. The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters,supplies about 40 percent of the nation’s blood,and teaches skills that save lives. They also provide international humanitarian aid and support military members and their families.
