On Monday March 16, 2020, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy asked for a statewide curfew for all residents between the hours of 8pm and 5pm to combat the spread of the coronavirus. The only exceptions, according to the governor’s recommendation, would be emergency or essential travel. The measure was announced during a joint conference call with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont.
