essex commissioners respond to tragic loss of newark firefighters

In response to the loss of two Newark firefighters in a ship fire the night of July 5, 2023, the Essex County Board of Commissioners releases the following statement:

“Our hearts are with the families of the two Newark firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty last night. Every day across the state and nation, firefighters make great sacrifices to protect our communities. Nothing can fill the hole their loss leaves in the lives of their loved ones. We wish those injured make a speedy and full recovery.”
