Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill addressing the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex at their weekly meeting

(West Caldwell, NJ) – The Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex welcomed Essex County Commissioner At-Large, Brendan Gill, at their March 4, 2021 weekly zoom meeting.

Commissioner Gill gave the members updates on the County’s COVID Response, highlighting the County’s five vaccination facilities, which to date have administered over 88,000 first doses and 48,000 second doses of the Moderna vaccine, the availability of free COVID testing sites with available appointments three days a week, and the emergency food distribution events held at a different location throughout the County every Thursday.

Commissioner Gill also spoke on specifics of the 2021 Essex County Budget which will positively impact county residents, as well as a plethora of county projects and services administered under the leadership of County Executive Joe DiVincenzo, Jr. and the County Commissioners – including improvements to Turtle Back Zoo and the South Mountain Reservation Area, the North Caldwell Dog Park, the County Parks System, and County Environmental Center.

Throughout the meeting, Commissioner Gill conveyed the determination of the county’s leadership to continue providing the services and relief to Essex County residents as we continue to combat COVD-19 and move forward into 2021.

“Although much of our effort in 2020 focused on providing COVID-19 relief to our residents, we continued to allocate resources toward Senior Services, Rehabilitation Services, and the traditional services Essex County residents are accustomed to receiving.” Commissioner Gill stated. “I want to express that our leadership throughout Essex County government will continue to work tirelessly to uphold the standards our residents have come to expect. We feel optimistic about 2021, and we will continue to push forward as we strive to keep the residents of Essex County safe, healthy, and proud of their communities.”
